Blaize, Cobalt Blue 19th Century embroidered dress
The most incredible Oriental 19th Century embroidered fabric. Salvaged and completely backed with fusing which allows the embroidery to stay solid and shine yet giving homage to the age and provenance of such dramatic and breathtaking work.
This dream has cascading wisteria, wild birds and open chrysanthemums... a pure dream.
The dress is effectively a poncho style cocoon fit which comes with a 3 inch wide belt in order to cinch in the waist. You can loop the belt on both front and back but you can keep the back loose for more drama as photographed here. Equally looks fab with a simple gold belt. The ankle length makes it less gown-like and more modern.
This is an extremely unique and rare piece. Although you can see some tears in the silk the disintegration is backed so it won't fall apart. The embroidery is intact.
