John Bates was  a British designer and was part of the boutique scene that blossomed in London in the 1960s. He apprenticed under Gerard Pipart at Herbert Sidon. From 1959 he began designing under the famous Jean Varon label. His pieces are very collectable.

 One of the prettiest floral print midi skirts with a wide waistband. The hem has a wide bold design and just looks fab worn with a snug sweater and belted. Has a flattering waistband and two side pockets. Looks fab worn with boots.
